You can catch Jeff after service in the lobby laughing with the adults and catching up, all the while shaking the arms off of their kids with one his famous, loveable “Jeff Handshakes.” When he’s not preaching or getting ready for a sermon, he is probably busy cheering for his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers or Penn State Nittany Lions! Either that, or spending time with the love his life, Julie, with their two kids, Jeff and Patti, their spouses, or having fun with grandson, Huck! What Jeff loves the most about serving at East Win are the deep and significant relationships he’s been able to create with his church family since being there, from the start, in 1987. If you were to know Jeff for just a few moments, it’d already be easy to see: He’s passionate about helping others experience a real and personal relationship with the God who made them, loved them, and wants to spend eternity with them!
You can find Jeremy doing just about anything – from refereeing ‘human foosball’ to tying in God’s timeless Word with the fleeting relevance of the latest viral video or trend. If he’s not hosting a Sunday morning service or running Wednesday night Youth Group, he’s probably occupied cheering on Atlanta United soccer… or deep into a playlist of Christian Hip Hop. Two hobbies which he gladly shares with his wife Kendall! What Jeremy loves the most about his role at East Win is watching the “light bulb” moment of students getting how God is involved in their life. He’s been chasing those moments since 2015, where he first came on as a college intern. Jeremy hopes to provide an experience to any student, 6th to 12th grade, that shows them that God is worth following – even in a day and age where it might seem like He’s not. He wants to make sure that God’s Word is presented in a way that is engaging, relevant, and can be carried outside of the church walls and into the real world.
You probably won’t find John in one of our services. Instead, he’s probably abroad in Grenada, Spain with his wife Becky, where they have been faithfully serving God and planting a church since 2016. However, John doesn’t let the distance keep him from enjoying some of his favorite hobbies though, like playing the guitar and writing songs. And definitely doesn’t let it keep him from catching up with his children and grandchildren back in the States! John’s been part of the East Win family since 2012, where he first helped establish our Hispanic congregation, Iglesia Cristiana. His passion for reaching Spanish-speakers with the Gospel has since led him to Spain, where he continues to live out this mission in the name of East Win and, most importantly, the Lord.
You can probably find Laurie Heath greeting each of her students with a warm hug or high five as they step into the aptly named Kidz Zone. When she’s not manning craft time or teaching through a Bible story, she enjoys spending time with her husband Jimmie and their three children – Karleigh, Marissa, and DJ. (Either that, or FaceTiming with her grandchildren!) What Laurie loves the most about East Win is watching children get excited as they grow closer to God – something she’s been able to witness since her start in 1999. Ever since then, Laurie has been dedicated to letting every child who walks through East Win’s doors know just how much God loves them, and why they should love Him too!
Guillermo spends his time reaching out and ministering to the Hispanic community of the Memphis area. If he’s not busy translating back and forth between English and Spanish, then he’s probably deep in preparation for East Win’s Sunday night service – completely in Spanish! Either that, or spending time with his wife Melissa and their two children – Ariadna and Yedi. What Guillermo loves the most about being at East Win is the chance to share God’s Word to a community which he cares deeply for, and who longs to hear it in their language. He’s been doing this since his start in 2016. Guillermo works hard to let his community know that there is a space that welcomes you no matter who you are or how you look – but treats you lovingly, just as God would.

Joy Bell runs the show! Believe it or not, her time isn’t just spent deciphering Jeff’s handwriting. You can find her doing anything from repairing a stubborn printer to designing our Sunday morning graphics! If she’s not holding the church staff together, then she’s probably spending time with her family – her husband Tim, daughter Shelby, and son and daughter-in-law Nathan and Patti. Since joining the team in 2001, Joy’s work behind-the-scenes has been priceless and gone a long way towards ensuring that everyone’s experience at East Win is positive and memorable.
